Job Overview
Anticipated weekly hours: Variable, between 24-32 hours per week. Shifts will typically be 8 hours in length. This individual selected for this position will need to have flexible availability three to four days out of the week, including some weekday evenings and weekends.
The starting hourly pay range for this role is $17.00 – $18.00 / hour with benefits (Health/Vision/ Dental insurance, employee assistance program, employee discount, paid time off, weekly pay, free coffee & tea, free parking, and more!).
Actual starting pay rate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, KSAs (knowledge, skills, abilities), market data, etc.
The individual selected for this position will need to have flexible availability in addition to being able to be consistently reliable to work scheduled shifts on a weekly basis.
Employees scheduled for opening shifts may be scheduled as early as 7:30am and closing shifts as late as 9:30pm.
Time off requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Job Purpose: To support the Front End Manager in ensuring an organized and smoothly run Front End by maintaining the flow of operations, accurate cash handling, and exceptional customer service during all hours of store operation.
Primary Responsibilities:

Customer Service
● Exhibit note-worthy service to all customers
● Ensure efficient and friendly service from front end staff.
● Always greet customers when they come in and thank them when they leave.
● Field complex customer concerns that team members are unable to address.
● Demonstrate deep familiarity and knowledge of the co-op and the co-ops products and current promotions
● Keep information resources on products and programs accessible to customers and staff.
● Answer the phone promptly and politely.
● Accurately educate non-shareholders and eligible customers on the benefits of shareholder membership, Flower memberships and the Double-Up Food Bucks program.
Front End Operations
● Provide prompt service to customers while at the register.
● Ensure that there is always coverage on at least ONE register during entirety of shift. Assure that there is always coverage on at least TWO registers during store’s peak times.
● Follow established procedures to ensure accuracy and security of all cash received through the front end including money handling procedures, cashier deposit paperwork, cashier over-short policies.
● Ensure timely and accurate daily deposits and paperwork.
● Communicate any new information relevant to the days operations to the cashiers.
● Contribute to training of new Front End Team Members
● Ensure store staff promptly answers the phones and refers calls to the appropriate staff.
● Monitor coffee station and ensure that coffee is refreshed as needed
● Complete shift reports accurately and concisely
Department Operations and Safety
● Ensure that department work areas and aisles are in a clean and orderly condition and meet all Health Department requirements.
● Ensure proper function of all Front end tools and equipment and report problems to the Front End Manager and Operations Manager.
● Document any issues that occur involving staff, customers or the facility during shift and report them to Management.
● Keep up to date on all Front End Standard Operating Procedures.
● Follow opening and closing procedures thoughtfully to ensure that the store is ready for customers at opening and is secured properly at closing.
Preferred Qualifications
● Education ☒ High School/GED ☐ Associates Degree ☐ Bachelors Degree
● 1-3 years retail experience.
● 2-3 years supervising teams.
● Excellent communication and listening skills.
● Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment.
● Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments.
