Get to Know the Nominees
Below are the Shareholders on the ballot to be added to the Abundance Food Co-op Board of Directors. You can vote for one or all of the candidates on the ballot. One ballot per shareholder.

Max Gianniny
Max is a Rochester native currently working in real estate. He became interested in Abundance because of an interest in both healthy food and cooperative ownership. During his tenure he worked closely with the move to the new store on South ave and with the hiring of our current GM. He believes we have only begun to realize the potential of the new store and looks forward to helping guide the co-op to become a staple of the South wedge and known across the city.

Jay Parnes
Jay is a native of NYC and has lived in Rochester for over 35 years. He is a retired dentist. Having shopped at the original Coop on Monroe Avenue, Jay has been a long-term shareholder, has seen the Coop evolve into what it is today and hopes to see future growth to turn it into what it can be.

Peter House
Peter is a long-time Shareholder and has served on the Board of Directors with great enthusiasm for cooperatives in the past. He brings a wealth of policy governance knowledge to the group.

Pete Vasquez

April Benedict
April is a whole food, plant-based Syracuse transplant who became interested in co-operatives after becoming a member of the Potsdam co-op in the north country. Learning about where our food comes from, how it is produced and the impact our choices have on a community sparked a change in her personal buying. She shares the values Abundance has for strengthening the community through food and products offered, which encouraged her to take a more active role and join the board. As a healthcare provider she is passionate about helping others live a healthy lifestyle and believes with education and outreach we can show how the co-op is accessible and beneficial to everyone in the community.
