Discover new tastes from our region and further afield.

The Abundance Produce Department has cultivated strong relationships with growers in our region to offer our customers a quality selection of organic or sustainably grown fruit and vegetables. We privilege local sources whenever possible, and certified fair trade produce when purchasing from national or international farms. We offer a variety of common and less known items that reflect seasonal changes in our region and elsewhere.

Weekly Produce Specials

Weekly Specials Sept 4-Sept 11

The 2021 EWG Shopper’s Guide ranks the pesticide contamination of 46 popular fruits and vegetables. It is based on results of more than 46,000 samples of produce tested by the Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. Numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies have shown that consuming produce high in pesticide residues (like the items on our Dirty Dozen™) increases the risk of certain negative health impacts, and that choosing organic can have almost immediate impacts on the amount of residues in a person’s body.

SPECIAL ORDERS

We have a service here at the Co-op called 'Special Orders'. Special Orders is essentially like ordering your products straight from the distributor!

Ordering in wholesale quantities, is an easy way to save your household money. The price does include a minimal margin for the store, and that percentage is lower for shareholders (one of the perks of being an owner!)

So, you may be asking yourself - what does wholesale quantities mean?

Examples of what you can order are things like

  • 50 POUND Bag of Rolled Oats
  • 9 POUND Tub Nut Butter
  • 1 Gallon Dr Bronners Soap
  • 1 POUND Bag Bulk Spices
  • 1 Case (12 cans) of Canned Tomatoes

To put the savings in to perspective

The following are prices for purchasing 12 cans (or a case) of Muir Glen Organic Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes, three different ways.

1. Off the Shelf

If you were to come in and purchase twelve cans off the shelf, you would pay: $31.08

2. Special Order

If you were to special order a full case (twelve cans), without being a shareholder, you would pay: $23.37

3. Special Order

If you were to special order a full case (twelve cans), and you are a shareholder, you save even more! You would pay: $21.91

How It Works

1. Email the Co-Op

Email SpecialOrders@abundance.coop

Please Include:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Shareholder Number (if applicable)
  • Phone Number
  • Special Order Details (what you are ordering)

2. Order Confirmation

Once your email is received, we'll review your order, then email you back a confirmation. If there is an issue with any of your items, we'll call you on the phone number you've provided.

The deadline for Special Orders is 3PM, every Wednesday.

Generally all orders are delivered to the Co-Op the following Monday. Once your order is in, we will contact you via phone.

3. Payment

All Special Orders are Prepay. We will contact you for payment information before your order is added to our delivery.

If we cannot receive payment before the deadline, your order will be placed on hold until payment can be made.

It is possible that an item you ordered will not be delivered (through no fault of the Co-Op), in that case we can either try reodering for the item for you during our next order, or you will be credited monies owed for that item.
