Stop by the co-op to check out a selection of art and photography from food-recovery agency, Flower City Pickers. Members’ and volunteers’ pieces will highlight 5 years of feeding people in need and not local landfills. Proceeds will go towards supporting FCP’s first ever enclosure that will be built this Fall inside the Rochester Public Market.
Flower City Pickers recovers surplus and donated produce from Rochester’s Public market to redistribute to local homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and other hunger-relief agencies and families, as well as, those with livestock and compost. FCP is environmentally and economically mindful and strives for a zero-waste community.
Founded in 2015, FCP has kept over half a million pounds of produce from being lost to the landfills. To learn more about how you can volunteer, receive food, or make a donation, please go to: www.flowercitypickers.org
