If you are unfamiliar with this amazing acronym, you may be asking yourself, “What is a CSA?”. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It’s when a group of people (community members) come together to directly support farmers that sell local, seasonal produce. By paying an upfront membership fee, the public is able to purchase a share of the season’s crop straight from that farmer. Shares of the crop, containing freshly picked local produce and the like, are usually handed out weekly, or bi-weekly. When you join a CSA, you agree to share the risks and benefits of farming with the farmer.

MUD CREEK FARM CSA

You may already know that Abundance works with lots of great local farmers, but did you also know we act as a pick up hub for Mud Creek Farm and their wonderful CSA program? Every year, from June to November, the store offers an opportunity for those in our neighborhood to have easy access to the fresh produce this CSA provides. Peacework is a member run collective that facilitates the distributions of the farm shares at the co-op. There are two options for shares, a weekly and bi-weekly option. You can also choose to pick up at the farm directly, if that is your preference!

Here is a GUIDE to the types of offerings you can find in this CSA.

Our mission is to provide delicious, healthy, local, organically grown produce to our community as well as provide a space for that community to meet, thrive, learn and grow. Mud Creek Farm strives to produce the healthiest, tastiest vegetables around. We are committed to using responsible farming practices which sustain and improve the health and vitality of the entire farm system, including the soil, the air, the water, the plants, the animals, and the people we feed. We will never use non-organic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, chemical fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms in our growing practices.
