2020 Annual Meeting
We’re gearing up for our 2020 Annual Meeting which means its election season at the co-op! If you’re new to the co-op or don’t mind a refresher here’s a little background on the Board structure and voting:
The bylaws state the Board is made up of a number between 5 and 11 individuals, who serve three-year staggered terms.
This year there are two Board members up for election, one who was appointed by the Board in 2020 and one who is running for re-election. This is an uncontested election which means all two candidates will be elected if each receives at least one vote.
After this election, there will be open seats on the Board. If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a Board Member please email board@abundance.coop. Per our bylaws, you must be a Shareholder of record to vote in this election.
This Year is Different
We all know what a crazy year it’s been, and with that we have to handle our meeting a little differently this year! Though sad that we all can’t be together, we fondly look forward to the day we can. This year our Annual Meeting will be taking place on Zoom! If you’ve never used Zoom, it’s super easy- just click on the link below when we go live October 25th. For folks that don’t like to feel rushed, we are opening the room fifteen minutes before we begin (at 3:45 PM), this will allow you to log in and get comfy. Read about Zoom here.

Our 2020 Annual Shareholder’s Meeting is this Sunday! During our Shareholder meeting we will be going over the numbers found in the Annual Report, which we have here for your convenience!

SHAREHOLDER ANNUAL MEETING
Cate Concannon:
Cate Concannon is a shareholder who began shopping at Abundance when she moved to the neighborhood in 2017.
She joined to Board because she believes in being an active member of the community in which she lives. She was a manager of a Farmers’ Market for six years, which gave her a real appreciation of eating local.
She and her husband David enjoy growing some of their own food in their garden. She works as a clinical trial coordinator at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Max Gianniny:
Max is a Rochester native currently working in real estate.
He became interested in Abundance because of an interest in both healthy food and cooperative ownership. During his tenure he worked closely with the move to the new store on South ave and with the hiring of our current GM. He believes we have only begun to realize the potential of the new store and looks forward to helping guide the co-op to become a staple of the South wedge and known across the city.
If elected, this will be his third term on the board.

- Vote in-store (ballots will be available at the registers)
- Vote at the meeting
Voting is open now through 3:00 PM, October 25, 2020. Remember, each Shareholder has one vote in the election. Please be sure to only cast your ballot once.
