Love local, craft beer and cider? Love libraries? Then you need to come to Books & Beer at the Co-op next Thursday (9/1). It will take place from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm.
1. You love quality, craft-brewed beer and cider (and delicious food).
The Abundance Beer Department is growing every week with new and unusual brews. The tasting will be a great way to discover some of the lagers, IPAs, wheat beers, and ciders you’ve never tried before.
In addition to tasty sips, we’ll also have some delicious bites including items from across our store. Look out for Spicy BBQ Tofu Bites with Dill Pickles made by our Deli, a local mustard taste test, and uncured hot dog bites from the Piggery (Ithaca, NY) topped with Small World Caraway Sauerkraut (Rochester, NY).
And don’t forget cheese! We’ll also have a selection of local and imported cheeses paired with a matching brew.
2. You love the Rochester Public Library.
Kinda like going back to school, you’ll have to bring a book. But instead of facing another long school year, you’ll be supporting the Rochester Public Library by tasting delicious brews.
The Friends and Foundation of the Rochester Public Library (FFRPL) will have a tent where you will be able to swap a book for something you like or, if you don’t see anything you want, you can donate your book. The FFRPL needs the books because they sell them in the Library Store at the Rochester Public Library and online. These sales are an important part of how the FFRPL generates funding for the programs at Monroe County libraries.
3. You like the sound of a coupon to save on some of our excellent beer and cider brands.
If you taste something you like and want to bring it home, you’ll have a nice coupon to use to get a little savings! Coupons will be given once you visit the Book Tent. Then you’ll use the coupon to get your stamp for the Beer Tent. Pretty simple!
